How a park and ride works

Park & Ride lots are free, designated parking areas where commuters can meet their carpool or vanpool, or connect with public transit to complete their trip. Convenient locations throughout San Joaquin and Merced counties make it easier to share the ride and spend less time driving alone.

Parking information & safety

Please park responsibly and secure your vehicle. Park & Ride lots are available for commuter use; however, vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk. Always lock your vehicle and remove or secure valuables.

dibs, the San Joaquin Council of Governments, and the Merced County Association of Governments are not responsible for vehicle damage, theft, or loss. Parking rules and regulations vary by location, so please follow all posted signs and requirements at each lot.

FAQ

It’s a FREE place where you can park your car and hop on a form of Smart Travel to continue your trip.

Parking and switching to another form of transit can save you both time and the stress of driving solo. Park & Ride lots are great for commuters with longer commutes and work best when you can park before the halfway point of your journey.

Unfortunately, dibs can’t accept responsibility for items stolen from your car at a Park & Ride lot. Make sure to lock your car and don’t leave any valuables behind. At the very least, make sure any valuables you can’t take with you are stored out of sight (in your glove box, center console or trunk).
